Open Blue is proud to announce a major milestone in the construction of the new state-of-the-art hatchery Viento Frio. The hatchery is now operational and rearing its first group of fish after receiving 30,000 Cobia fingerlings into the nursery last month. This large-scale innovative facility will provide nursery and rearing space as well as a place to keep our broodstock and research tanks; with the capability to produce enough fingerlings to support 15,000 metric tons of grown fish.

Open Blue has expanded their product offering to include frozen Cobia in addition to fresh fish. Frozen Cobia is primarily offered as fully trimmed individually vacuum-packed loins; although other cuts and formats are also available. Open Blue uses top of the line processing and freezing facilities in North America and Europe where Open Blue Cobia is quick frozen using advanced technologies to ensure premium product quality.
